July Awareness: Juvenile Arthritis

It is estimated that 300,000 children in the United States are affected with some form of juvenile arthritis. While the symptoms of arthritis – pain, aching, stiffness, and swollen joints – may make physical activity difficult, doctors say that regular, moderate activity is one of the best ways to ease the pain, increase your mobility, and overcome the challenges of arthritis.

Some exercises include water walking or water exercise, walking, biking, pilates, yoga or Tai Chi, social sports or activities. Check with your MD before beginning any new exercise or physical activity.
